1. Open iTerm. Go to Bookmarks → Manage Profiles… .
2. In Profiles window, browse to Terminal Profiles and expand the menu by clicking the triangle. Choose and click on Default.
3. Tick the “When idle, sends ASCII code” and set its value to 20 (ASCII for space).
4. Exit the Profiles window.
