Sorry for the lack of updates. I’m taking myself off from the Internet - sort of and decided to relax even though there are tons of projects to be done.

Remember my unredeemed GSC free movie coupon? I finally use it, not once but twice.

It was Friday night; we decided to watch a midnight movie at GSC One Utama. As expected, there were only few nice movie can be use with the coupon. So we finally ended up with “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” since we have no other choice. June already watch the movie, but she insists on watching it for the second time. I must say that the movie is very suitable for kids and the plot was really straight forward. I can’t deny that they really make the animated Aslan looks pretty much real and convincing.

But that’s not the real problem.

As the movie is coming to the end, suddenly the screen goes blank. By the look of it, it doesn’t look like a blackout. I suspect there’s a problem with the movie projector, most probably a short circuit. Everybody was quiet. Thank God I’m not watching movie with bunch of monkeys. Everyone was calm and all I can hear is people whispering. Few minute later, the GSC Cinema Assistants comes in. By hearing from their conversation over the walkie-talkie, not only our theaters but the entire cinema was affected. We take the time to go to the toilet and then wait until the problem sorted out.

30 minutes later, everyone start complaining. Then the management decides to give back a refund since they can’t fix the problem in a short time. It’s freaking 4:30 a.m LOL! During the refund I ask them if I can redeem my coupon again since it cannot be refund with money. And they said Ok. I smile with a big grin on my face. According to June, the movie it’s about 10-5 minutes to the ending. Because she does already watch the movie, she explains what’s happen next. Even if they got the projector working again, I wonder that whether the scene can be fast forward or not. Probably cannot right?

The bright side is that I can redeem the coupon again. Don’t you love free stuff?

2 days later, we went again to GSC One Utama to redeem again my free movie ticket once more. At first we thought it’s only valid for Narnia since it’s already been redeem for that movie. But my guesses are wrong. The cinema assistant said I can watch any movie and so we choose to watch King Kong. We are surprise that there are still few good seat available. We thought that since there are many people lining up at that time in front of the box office we’ll probably be seating in a front row.

King Kong is not in my 2005 best movie list. Since the movie is a remake of the original King Kong (1933), my expectation wasn’t so high. What you expect? It’s a movie about love between a giant Gorilla and a girl. But I really enjoy seeing Kong battle the Tyrannosaurus Rex which probably most intense and longest fight scene I’ve ever seen. Would you agree that the whole scene on Skull Island pretty much reminds me of Jurassic Park?

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity thanking GSC for the free ticket(s). It was fun and did I mention that the new GSC cinema in One Utama is has the most comfortable seats that most cinema I’ve ever been to. Even I and my long legs can stretch out without hitting the seat in front of me.
