Exabytes Launches Exabytes Security Portal

Exabytes, a well-known web hosting provider in Malaysia today launches its very own Security Portal. In this portal (or I would say a blog), Exabytes tries to bring latest security updates and news to their clients and customers along with possible solutions.

According to their latest security newsletter, In future, you don’t have to worry on not knowing any latest updates on web security. We are here for you every month!

This is really a good approach to help clients or customers to be more alert. If this portal is really effective, I probably won’t need to subscribe to multiple security sites just to get the latest security update. Furthermore, the content is easy to read, nicely categorized and the information is very straight forward. Worth mentioning is their previous entry entitled Be Proactive where CY Lee advised us: All you need is to be proactive and that’s the best way to secure your site!.

I hope that from the Exabytes Security portal, the team will deliver the news and updates right on time. Well done!

Good step. But…

More towards web applications security. Copy N Paste advisories without giving a source, a credit where it due. What a shame.

Not cover all the issue, I rather read BUGTRAQ & Full Disclosure.. :D

farking,

Nope, it just that we haven’t put up the disclaimer yet and we are not taking any credits from that, we are doing this to serve our customers and hoping they will take the initiative to update or patch their sites, and since Exabytes Networks are geared towards web hosting environment, we only cover the web applications issue as we will try our best to secure the OS and server applications ourselves.

BUGTRAQ & Full Disclosure are not meant for end users, most of the informations there are disclosed to help people who work in security arsenal to turn the table around the attackers.

We are serving different purpose so that’s the main reason why we don’t post everything. We accept any critics but I don’t think end users can simply understand what was written in BUGTRAQ and so forth thus we keep it as simple as possible.
