Last weekend, me and Juliana went to Titiwangsa Lake Garden to ride Eye on Malaysia (the tallest portable observation wheel in South-East Asia). As fun as it may sound (which is not), it’s kind of dull and boring ride. Moreover, it was raining.
As noted on the Eye on Malaysia ticket, At busy times you may be asked to share your gondola
. I’m totally understood with this but why we need to share the gondola with 5 more people? There are 7 people in the gondola including me and Juliana. I’m totally fine if it was 6 but why 7 people?
The problem is that we can’t freely move. It’s even hard to take some nice photo inside the gondola without asking the other visitors that shares the same gondola with us to move a bit. So, this is really suck!
Anyway, you can view some of the photos that we have taken during our visit at my Eye on Malaysia flickr set.
An interesting shot!
u should have visited on a weekday…..no crowds..and u have the gondola to urself at no extra costs!!!!
it is a pity that you and your friend didn’t share a great time during your visit. however, i truly feel that such criticisms is not going to change your experience but it would simply tarnish this county’s reputation as an avenue for tourism. some things are better kept unsaid.
i strongly second what Mr. Raviraj had to say about your announcement and i think with more people around like him, this country could be looking at a bright future.

This I say to Raviraj and Jennifer — GROW UP. One’s experience is one experience, you cannot fault him for expressing it. I applaud Safirul for speaking up and I thank Rochana for suggesting week days visit. I only hope that in due time this country will mature to take criticism constructively and improve on services rather that paying lip service to mere architectural edifice. Just imagine if tourist come and share similar experience with Safirul? They return with a bad taste and people like R & J just tell them to be quite!
Keep up the criticism… perhaps be a little more constructive in future it good for the country and it especially good for the community.
im going to kl and thinking of riding the eye on malaysia and wondering how much is the ticket?and what about the klcc aquaria?pls lemme know?thanks guys!
shana, RM15 for adults and RM8 for children for Eye on Malaysia. As for Aquaria KLCC, RM28 for adults and RM22 for children (both with MyKad).

I believe you are the one who needs to be more mature. There are always proper outlets and avenues to voice one’s concerns or discomfort. Do you think by putting the criticism here the people responsible will notice it? Do you think the owners make enough money to employ staff to scour the internet to see if people are satisfied with their service?
Kadangkala perkara yang prihatin adalah perkara yang senang kita terlupa. Budi bahasa budaya kita. Percayakah?

Flame more and you guys will be more definately more mature. The internet is a source for info, regardless if its for good or bad. This country isnt doing any better if ppl dont voice out but i can see the ppl in this country aint mature enough to take critism and hence we dont enjoy the freedom of speech that other countries do.
but i do have to comment on the topic of the post.the “boring” could have been removed but hey, not everyone has a major in journalism.
MasCh, its obvious that they do not make enough money since they are cramping 7 ppl in a gondola. If you think bloggers aim to get notice from whom they critic, then you are the one should scour and make the same replies to them since u are free enough to flame in here.Maybe in the future if u’re mature enough, pay a visit to malaysia-today.net.

I’m going to Eye on Malaysia this weekend to see how sucky it is. :)
stop this suck! you will damage our pride..
I was only looking for the price of the Eye of Maylasia and came across this forum, I come from the UK and sure we read this stuff but it doesn’t put us off doing things, KL is a truly wonderful city, obviously I’m only seeing it as a tourist but I’d be proud to be part of the community here, the people are warm and friendly and whilst I haven’t been on the eye of Malaysia yet, I’m sure its no worse than the London Eye which is hugely overpriced yet we see thousands daily going on it as its something to do when in London, some love it some hate it but we still do it. (yes even me). So just go try it, you don’t like it so what its hardly cost you a fortune has it………

i heard it was closed last month?the website said it lasts till 31 dec.can somebody update me pls?
welcome to msia trix..we are warm to tourists but not each other :P everyone’s a lil bit racist.haha just joking.
azi..pride is earned not given.
Guys guys…. this is his blog and it’s up to him to express his feelings…
We all are mature enough to see what makes him felt unconfortable and boring: rain, crowd, etc. and the suggestion to visit in weekdays is another way to overcome this.
Yes, his comments may look tarnishing to some. I was a lil suprised when my search result on ‘Eye on Malaysia’ returned with ‘Boring Experience at EoM’ on the first page. but once i noticed it’s a blog, i knew it just an opinion. We can think, evaluate, etc. We take criticism as a way to improvise. We’ll never move on if we only wanted to hear the nice good stuff and refuse to accept comments.
And still if i got the chance to visit EoM, sure i may try it to see how ‘boring’ it may be. I may try to avoid weekend. see, his blog helps me to avoid boringness… :)
Bravo the the writer!
you guys know what.. Malaysia should start to compete with the world, not try to satisfy ourselves with “being better than the poorer countries” but rather should try to beat richer nations.. look at singapore and what they become now…. it’s a really nice and happening place.. KL .. when will it be like singapore? having tourist attractions is not nice enough, quality not quantity…
We should try to avoid letting “culture” and “tradition” from preventing us to imitate the west…
Its either you globalise or remain being a third world nation
Compare with the young people in Thailand and Philippines, Malaysian young people are more boring and unhappy.
So it is not surprising to find blogs of Malaysian are usually boaring with immature criticisms.
Be happy always!
