The author of this article simply cannot delete your Yahoo! account on your behalf. You should do it yourself now, as you did to create the darn account at the very first place. No one else can, because within the process, Yahoo! would require your password. Here I saw one pity reader who gave out password! NEVER do that. 3. If your account is stolen and its password is changed so that you can’t log in, you usually will be able to retrieve the account by providing the information as you put on when you made the account. If this doesn’t work, you can call the help desk. Check the entire website for such information. When you get the account back, change the password with new ones, use “strong” password. Strong password could be something you can easily remember but others are hard to guess, and not word found in dictionary. Not necessarily “1wentt0h4w4112xLaStYeAr”, which makes you sound like a paranoid, but could be something else. Next, check all folders for suspicious e-mail left. He who took over your account might have asked your colleagues to “loan” you money or worse, flamed your boss. If that happened, contact them immediately and explain the situation. Next, check any online service you used which shares the information with your mail account, something like Paypal, eBay, your bank and such. If you see something suspicious, contact each of them immediately and explain the situation. If those online services also use same password like your stolen mail account, you MUST change each of them to a new one.
The to do list is continuing, but this is not a suitable place to discuss. In the world of networked information like today, losing your email account is making you lose much more. Your ignorance about do-it-yourself security can make you a victim for prying eyes out there.

I want to delete my yahoo account which has been hacked and all the information which i used while creating the account is being changed and Iam not able to recover my yahoo password.Is there any way to delete the account? It is being misused and un wanted emails are being sent to the email ids in my address book. Any help will be appreciated.Thanks!

i am also facing the same issue with my yahoo id, some one is mis utilizing my id, and my contacts in the address book……I am not sure what went wrong…..could you please tell me if you have solved this problem…..

Dear Test,
I’m afraid not. But you could write to Yahoo and tell them your original user name and password. They will be having a method to see whether you are telling the truth or not.
